IP address protection when Torrenting?How? & Program suggestions

To put this basically, i have torrented quite a bit in the past. Last thing i D/L'ed was a certain war movie (btw it sucked) and then their huge suit came out and though I knew most likely i wouldnt be affected, it did open my eyes as far as i can just wait for it to come out on netflix, and not run the risk of paying $2000 for a movie download.

I now am wanting to D/L some music, and have read about P2P IP address programs that protection your IP address. I dont know exactly how they protect you, so if you know id love to know what you are/arent protected from.

And also , my main Q:
When you torrent, do you use a protection program? If so which?

Torrenting itself is not illegal, and can be discussed here. Since you've rather clearly indicated though, that you're downloading copyrighted material without permission, this thread is closed.
