I just bought a new Iomega External 160GB USB 2.0 Hard drive because my old one just wasn't fast enough (maxtor that is very loud and only runs on 5400rpm). Anyway, whenever I try to install windows xp home on the new Iomega, I get a blue screen that comes up in the middle of the windows xp loading process (where it has the windows xp logo right when you boot up your computer). The blue screen tells me to remove any newly installed hard drives and to check for viruses on them and says to run chkdsk /f on the new drive to check for errors. I have tried reformatting the hard drive with NTFS and FAT32 but the same error occurs at the same time. Obviously the new hard drive shouldn't have any viruses because I just bought it, and I have tried running chkdsk /f in the recovery console but says everything is fine. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
