Invalid wins server entry

I found this morning that my file server has an incorrect IP address listed in my WINS server.

I've fixed what caused the incorrect IP to be listed in there, but can i delete the bad entries without causing any odd behavior on the network. Will it re-register or will a reboot be needed?
 
You can delete your old entries in WINS. You can also run "nbtstat -RR" to reregister.
 
If you have multiple WINS servers, you want to tombstone the record, not just delete it. If you delete it, it will just be replicated back from one of the other servers.

I have found tombstoning doesn't always work 100%. I do start with this though. If I still have problems, I will manually delete the records from all servers.
