Hey everyone,

I'm a recent Computer Engineering Graduate looking to get started with C#. I'd like to get a good book for people who aren't familiar with C#. I'm going back at forth between the Jesse Liberty,Brian MacDonald book vs. the Microsoft John Sharp book. Can anyone recommend 1 book over the other, or perhaps another book I haven't mentioned.

Thanks,
Danny

I would go with Programming Microsoft Visual C# 2005: The Language. Since you already know how to program in an object oriented way all you really need to know is where to find what you are looking for.

I'm reading Pro C# 2005 and the .Net Platform 2.0. I like it a lot because it explains alot of stuff didnt understand like the CIL and how the garbage collector works.

hate the thread jack, but if i've never coded C++ before, should I start learn that before I learn C# or can I go straight to C#?

I learned C++ first.. then everything else seems 'easy'. Most other programming languages are basically the same, but different syntax. All you have to do is learn the rules to each language, but they all seem the same to me, lol.

QFE. Authors put more effort into their work than anyone else.
