Dont really know where to put this. Just doing a little poll. What speed do you have at home and how much you pay for it every month for your internet service.

8/1 ADSL, I pay about 40/mo for DSL + home phone, but I work for the company so get a discount. I think the base price is around 70/mo for what I have.

We are getting fibre to the home soon though! I can't wait, never thought I'd see the day. Posted a thread about it. The service will be 50/30 and it will be about 160/mo (without discount) for the highest bundle which includes phone and TV.

Uncapped modem nets me around 100 down, 20 up on my node. I don't pay a dime though ;)

I have 17/1 Mbps DSL that my company pays for. I work for a phone company in rural Iowa and offer DSL.

Our plans and prices are:

1/1 Mbps - $25
2/1 Mbps - $35
4/1 Mbps - $55
6/1 Mbps - $69

I don't come up with the speeds or prices. If it were up to me we would offer at least 10/1 for $35.

Comcast Business Class Atlanta Area .... 35/8 for $105/mon but its business class and I get good service response.

25/2 DSL here in Saskatchewan. Two static IPs included for 80 a month.

Never had an outage or slowdown or any issue whatsoever in the four years I've had high speed. They are rock solid.

8/3 = $69 a month.

Comes with some features. Like 2 email accounts. 1 website url. + 20 mb a month upload space.

15/2 paying for > $59 month w/ the Triple-Play rape your wallet package. Now getting 20/4Mbps free of charge so its a little easier to swallow. Would be $10 more per month without the Triple Play.

If only I could get my family off that stupid wasteful package.

In terms of Down(mbs)/Up(mbs)/Cap(GB) I'm using 6/1/??? for $34 (before taxes) and is an old grand fathered plan, this price though is due to a bundle and phone retentions. My bandwidth cap is a bit strange it was listed before at different amounts (40gb then 70gb) but the line did not seem to actually be monitored since it always showed I used 0gb and I've never been billed extra or gotten warnings even though I'm sure I have gone over those amounts. Now I cannot even find how to check bandwidth usage for this account.

In terms of what is available here (Cancouver, Canada) from the two major companies (all prices before taxes) -
Phone Company (Telus) -
1.5-6/1/100 - $50 (this is similar to the plan I have)
3-15/1/150 - $55
5-25/2.5/250 - $65
20-50/10/400 - $80

Cable company (Shaw)-
10/0.5/125 - $50
20/0.5/200 - $55
25/2.5/250 - $60
50/3/400 - $75
100/5/500 - $85
100/5/750 - $95
100/5/unlimited - $195
250/15/400 - $115
250/15/unlimited - $195

ISP: Time Warner Cable Biz Class
Location: Maine
Internet Speed: 15Mbit downstream, 2-3Mbit upstream
Price: $86.95 (grandfathered plan that is no longer offered)

Surewest ftth

Been paying about 60 a month for uncapped 50/50.

We have Comcast at the gf's apt which runs us 39 a month for 35/5 or something like that.

Manitoba, Canada

Main line @ work is 100/100 guaranteed uncapped fiber, it's $2450/mo

Subsidizing phone/tv/internet services to some of the least densely populated parts of North America sucks.
