This smells of some govenment+religion scare story. I know plenty of people who are pr0n connoisseurs and still function just fine in the bedroom.

Unless you are in the bedroom with these "porn connoisseurs" there is absolutely no way to know that they "function just fine."

There is a very real possibility of becoming sexually dysfunctional by watching porn. Porn is not sex that most people have, and when someone see's porn as what sex is supposed to be, you can have very serious problems.

You don't need to be religious to figure out that looking at porn is bad.

What's the difference between starving and anorexia? Choice. This "study" doesn't consider that difference.

Agreed, somewhat.... I think there are a small few people who can "go wayyyy overboard" and not be able to turn back or fix themselves. Kind of like child porn people, they know its bad but cant resist the temptations -- but for the majority of educated, normal porn watchers.... I agree, they can watch it weekly and still perform fine sexually. Been there, done that. I dunno about DAILY porn watching, but it might happen every now and then, I won't lie.

Finally.... Porn is a tool, not a replacement (unless you just want to get off really quick and not care about the rest of the things that deal with sex and/or hunting for a compatible partner, lol)

I find that hard to believe unless you are talking about someone who joins a really bad cult.

Why do you hate religion so much?

No kidding. My GF wouldn't have had nearly as much pleasure if I hadn't spent some time learning how to provide it. 20+ orgasms over course of an hour and she's pretty fullfilled... of course, then she wants more... ugh

If you're "inured to even the most violent images", you were born that way. Herman Cain thinks it's a choice. <snerk, snerk>

I'm just wondering, can a violent image blow you?

I was a young teenager when the first high speed internet rolled out. I also had a room with a locked door and lots of spare time.

I have no comments to make on this matter.

There are lots of reasons to be against religion. It is not a force of good in the world. It can make a normally immoral act seem moral if you simply believe the teachings. The supposed good acts of religion can be done without the religious aspects.

But more on topic, what porn are people watching that it is not similar to a normal relationship? Outside of specific fetishes and things you can only find on the Internet (Brazilian fart porn, seriously?), it's all pretty standard. The main difference is the cameras. Most girls aren't like porn stars, but it's not difficult to keep perspective. You learn what is applicable in the relationship you're in through communication. I would only be against porn that was shot in a situation where another was being taken advantage of, exploitation, drugs, etc. It needs to be professional but I'm not sure how much that is asking of an industry generally regarded as being a bit greasy.

People just need to learn how to handle their vices.

Drugs, alcohol, sex, porn, religion, politics, video games, etc, etc are all fine in moderation. You let it take over your life it is your own damn fault.

Let me get this. Some italian men (hardly a cross section of society) like to watch a light bulb that looks like people having sex various different ways THAT PEOPLE ACTUALLY HAVE SEX, and they get off on it. FUCK THEM.

Then other people go to church and fuck their wives just those same ways. WHOO FOR US!

    No. Fuck this study.

Agreed. Everything in moderation and bringing in some new techniques and ideas to keep things fun and exciting is usually a good thing so long as you ask if she wants to try different things first. Some of you guys are acting like fing your lady like a slut every now and then is a bad thing. In my experience it's much appreciated from time too time.

Eh, it can never replace a real relationship. I think if you ever get to the point where you can't perform you just need to go without it for awhile. Sometimes there is just better things to focus on saying that I've never had that problem...

Not really. I'm just playing along at an attempt at being funny.

Perhaps because it causes more wars than anything else on this earth? It allows people to demonize others for being different because a group of *insert white/arab/black* males like to discriminate against women/homosexuals/minorities while retaining power for them selves in almost all cases.

Religion is irrelevant to me because I don't need a list of rules telling me what I can or cannot do with my life/body/mind. I have common sense for that and it works quite well. If religion pushed society forward like scientists/engineers involved with technology have then I would have a different opinion but it only holds back humanity threw fear and control.

I think it sounds like BS too, if anything it's going to cause relationship issues, with your girlfriend/wife, as she feels like she is being cheated on, or she's ugly, or your going to leave her for someone else.

Only benefit of porn is giving you some creative ideas.

Clearly porn reduces the need for sex. That being said, if sex were available, most men would choose sex over porn.

I hate to tell you, but that's more your GF than the porn. Sure you got technique to perfect from porn, but most women can't have that many orgasms; before they collapse or are too sore to continue. Hell some are too sensitive to continue after one. Most women can only take so much deep dicking before something gives out even if they're not doing much of the work.

You don't have to be a genius to figure out it's not bad.

Everyone I know who likes looking at messed up porn was a messed up person anyway. It's not like nothing bad ever happened in the days before porn.

I've consumed my fair share of porn and I haven't been inured to anything. I just like images of good looking people going at it.

Of course you may be correct. My point was that it can be a learning tool. She claims she never looks at porn or even touches herself, and it is pretty clear she doesn't know what to do. Also some have several smaller orgasms while others one or two big ones. That's not based on experience, just what I've read.

I should probably be clear that I didn't exactly learn how to "provide" pleasure from watching porn, but actually from books... porn helped provide an example of when I was doing it right.

The quality of porn counts though, of course. Anything fake is hardly worth considering for learning purposes.
