Internet Explorer is being whacky

Well im posting this for my friend who uses FireFox of course, but he is having serious internet explorer problems. For the last week IEXPLORER.EXE has been running on his computer, first off we tried task manager but it reboots itself . Then regedited which was much less succesful, then he downloaded AVG to maybe clean it up. AVG keeps finding a trojan in the temp files, everytime he deletes that it comes back too. Would a reformat be the best solution, or does somebody know of a way to circumvent reinstalling windows.

Isn't iexlplore.exe internet explorer? I believe ieexplorer is a virus/trogan.

Wait theres an update, his taskmanager actually post this IEXPLORE.EXE. Anybody know how to shut this down, or will he have to reformat his system. Maybe unistall and reinstall IE

Boot into safemode, check MSConfig to make sure it's not starting up - if not, then delete the file. IEXPLORE is malware.

trojans generally come in two parts an exe and a dll
fail to get both it will reinstall

At some point your friend still uses IE, so lock it down.
Friends don't let friends use Internet Explorer.
