Internet Explorer Fixes

My IE was working fine, and then all of a sudden when i try to d/l anything i get server not found. I can go to pages, but ex. download.com i try and download a file, and i get "server not found". Is there any fixes for this?. I've tried to reset all my defaults in the IE Properties and i had a WinSock fix that i ran, and still the same thing.

Any Hints?

Download and run CWShredder.

Also if you are not using a proxy, in IE click on

tools
internet options
connection tab
select your connection
settings
make sure the "use a proxy server for this connection..." is not check.

A lot of viruses/spyware will run as a service and make you browse through it.

Check your HOSTS FILE too (load it in notepad)

On WinXP, it's located in C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

By default, it should have one entry
127.0.0.1localhost
