internet connectivity problems

hi,
i have a problem with my internet connection, using rogers cable internet

i had used it for about 5 months without any problem, however, recently, the internet connection is very intermittent. occasionally.. for example, ever twenty minutes or so... the connection will be cut off for a brief time, which result in program like ICQ, MSN disconnected and reconnected.. also, only the torrents don't experience any problem, i noticed during these period, bitcomet works fine. the period is short, such as a few minutes, but it is disruptive for any kind of file transfer.

i have been using a dlink wireless router, but this is experience on my desktop. also, previously i was using the router, and no problems were found.

i upgraded to SP2 recently, and I think the problem start at approximately this time - but after uninstalling SP2, the problems didn't go away.
