i have a 2.5" laptop hard drive and i found a old external drive case, i put them together but i can't find the drive in under my computer. am i doing something wrong, is there a driver i need to install or somthing. i do have a driver but it;s only for win98.
i can't seem to find a guide off the internet. can someone help me please.

Did you read the sticky thread called ANSWERS?

Edit: hmm, it seems the answers thread no longer has the answer.. that is if it showes up in Device Manager and not My Computer go to Disk Management and create a partition on the drive.

thanks for your reply.
but i found on my computer a program called Partition magic. (my dad apperently didn't want to tell me about it) i just created a new disk. the space was unlocated so in my comptuer it wouldn't show up. me happy now

Yep, PQ magic will do the same thing as Disk Manager only with a few more options and abilities.
