Somebody please tell me this is a joke. Obviously a lot of time, effort and money went into the production of this thing…let’s just hope it is another one of those internal joke videos the company likes to make. Yikes!
 
Microsoft has always shown a great sense of humor with this kinda stuff, using Ricky Gervais in that one set of videos, the Microsoft phone, etc. etc. but this one is just ...ummmm, odd.
 
It looks to me like the music video was a joke that was then taken to make form a moral-boosting video by adding the last part. So I'd go with a solid combination of not-a-joke and is-a-joke.
 
If only they put as much effort into making Vista better at release as they did in producing this video...:rolleyes: Joke or not, this video is horrible.
This video makes me want to walk outside and stand in front of a moving bus.
 
Boy do they look like a fun group. I sure hope the were allowed to drink prior to having to hand over their souls to Bill and lose all self respect.

Aww common guys, it's funny! It was meant to make fun of themselves and Springsteen, and provide a good laugh. when you have as much money as Microsoft Marketing at your disposal, this is what can happen :eek:

Remember this is the company that also treats its employees to keg parties from time to time. (I have that direct from a Microsoft employee)

It's actually not usually wasted money, one of the big battles for tech companies is retaining staff and being a 'fun' company is part of doing that. Internal Marcomms budgets are absolutely huge these days as there's no such thing as a job for life

It all boils down to the same bloody reason all the meeting rooms at work have cartoon characters on the wall and bean bags... ffs

I'm not sure who made it, but it does say that it's by "Microsoft Quota Records". It could also be by a 3rd party that sells Microsoft products. The production value is pretty low so, I wouldn't bet on Microsoft being the original creator. My friend worked for a company that only produced these types of videos and other "fun" corporate videos (like "Sexual Harassment - Who's to Blame?"). They had strong demand for these types of videos all of the world. Who'd have thought?
 
I think watching the cheesy crap that Best Buy shoves down its employees throats every quarter has desensitized me to the cheese factor of this video.

Still, I had flashbacks.

I think that has to do more with your name than with a joke video from a marketing group.
 
Corporate has no need for a DRM invested OS that offers slower performance than WinXP.
