Intermittant shutdowns

I've been having an intermittant problem lately where my computer will shut off at random times. There will be long periods (weeks or months) where it will be fine, then a spurt where about once a day the computer will shut off. The RAM LED on my motherboard stays lit, so it's getting some power. I can't turn the computer back on until i hold the power button for 4 seconds and the LED goes out. Then when i hit the power everything is fine. Do i have a quirky power supply? It's an Antec 480W with the blue LED fans. The power button connector is firmly in place on the mobo, so i don't know what else it could be. This isn't a huge problem, just mildly aggravating.

have you checked to see if it could be overheating? are their any patterns to the shutdowns? (ie: is it shutting down when running a particular application or game?)

Actually, i usually either come home or wake up to find it shut down when i know i left it on and know there were no power outtages. A couple times i've seen it shut down on its own. So i guess the only patter is that it happens when it's been idle for awhile.

Your machine may be going into hibernation, which really sucks since there are known issues with that mode.
