Interesting speaker problem

Lately I've been having a problem with my 5.1 setup my rear channel does not work. I have a Logitech 5-5300 speaker system and a Sound Blaster Xtreme Gamer sound card. I noticed when I test the rear channel in the audio console it doesn't work, I also plugged the speakers into my DVD player and they still didn't work, I have the switch on the subwoofer on 5.1, and when I play certain games I am able to hear certain noises like waterfalls, footsteps etc. but not all games. Any ideas on what wrong or how to fix it? thanks
