First, my setup:
MSI 890FXA-GD70
Phenom II x4 965BE @4.0GHz
HD6850 CFX
HD4850 512mb
8GB G.Skill 1600mhz ram
11.10 beta driver with 11.9 cap1

So, as you can see, I'm running 3 gpu's, 2 in crossfire and one auxiliary. The 6850cf are for my eyefinity layout and the 4850 is for my upcoming Cintiq 24HD. I just upgraded my mobo so I could run 3 gpus but it turns out, it wont let me crossfire the 6850s while the 4850 is installed. Also, some of my logitech programs wont function with the 4850(really don't understand this one...). Does anyone have any idea why?

Logitech software is terrible a lot of the time. Loads of issues with G15s causing blue screens etc. if you google it. The HD6850s and HD4850 don't use the same driver set, so you may have issues running crossfire. Typically it's only worth using different types of GPUs with single cards, not crossfire. I'm not sure if there'd be an easy way round this or not.

Well, I have 2 6850s. I want the 4850 to function on its own. Right now, crossfire wont enable for whatever reason. I checked, and I do have the crossfire bridge on it. Its strange...

Yeah it's because it detects the HD4850 in the system, and it knows you can't crossfire a 6850 and a 4850 together, hence crossfire is disabled, hence me saying, if you're going to mix generations like this, it's best not to try and use things like crossfire.

And of course...the reformat failed. Could this day get anymore complicated?

Make sure the 2 6970 cards are in the pcie x16 slots. I'm not sure 100% how your motherboard is laid out but check the manual. One slot is a x4 slot at full length and that slot will not allow crossfire with a x16 slot. Check yoru bios too and make sure primary video is set to pcie.

Bah, that would make sense...I do have it in the one half-laden slot but I thought it was a x8 slot. I guess I need to spread it out one more slot and use the longer crossfire bridge they supplied. When I move the card, am I going to run into any problems with drivers?

I've been through all kinds of setups, with no ability to crossfire. I'm giving up for now.

Sounds like your problems probably go deeper than badly installed graphics drivers. If it's any consolation my internet connection went down for 2 hours today and screwed my browsers up

I know its a long shot, but did you double check your cross-fire bridge? Either that its seated right, or maybe try a second one in case there was something wrong with the first?

Well, in utter frustration, I left my computer unplugged all yesterday(good thing too, a huge storm came through) and today when i turned it back on, my bios had set itself back to default, so i rolled with it, and moved my monitor cables back to the main card and bam, crossfire popped up. it took a botched overclock to fix my problem. lol. I'm kind of scared to install my G15 software again though...When I do, it doesnt like me anymore and LCore.exe uses 25% of my processor for no reason. What do you guys think?

But I like my screen and 18 macro keys...There are things I like to type without...typing.

My keyboard has macro keys (up to 72 I believe), and I use an external display for the same purposes as the G15 :p

Then what keyboard and external display would you suggest? I also like my media keys to be handy.

I've been thinking of getting a mechanical keyboard but not one of the snobby models.

Do they not make a better looking auxiliary display?

EDIT: my headphones (logitech G35) use the same Logitech Gaming Software which is the problem I've been having. They didn't use to...and logitech doesn't host the software as legacy either...and of course, i can't find the disk...
