Intel's road map: Released and Unreleased!

nice jump from 4xx to 900 bucks and beyond to get a 3+ gig part..simply not worth it for what you get back for most enthusiastics these days (note i said most..not all!) and i fear that this also assumes that intel doesn't change their pricing strategy with amd in it's current rough shape.
 
The 3ghz part is an extreme model cpu. Nothing new there chief. Did the same thing with the 2.9ghz c2d when it debuted 2 summers ago. This has been their same strategy and pricing scheme for the past, what, 4 years now?
 
Where in the world does Intel get these names from? Yorkfield? Kentsfield? Bloomfield? Wolfdale? Conroe? Yonah? do they have some sort of team just thinking up names to put on processors?

got that..just not everyone realizes that is what the strategy has been...and it's just tragic that .17 gig and an unlogged multi separates a 400 dollar and 900 dollar part

Specifically west and northwest US (Intel is in Oregon).

Anyways, nothing new there. Just confirms the fact that the only Nehalem based chips out in 2008 are going to be the highest end chips. Which everyone expected anyways.

I wouldn't bother making assumptions as to performance of chips yet to be released much less have practically no information on.

off topic..anyone else's foxit's having a stupidly hard time reading that?
 
bloomfield being an unnamed part based on bloomfield, the QX9450 being the existing QX9450.

Glad to see they project bloomfield getting down to the $3xx level at least. Do wish there was an octo core on that map. :/

Intel has already made preparations for 6 and 8 Core processors possibly out by early 2009....but other then that....not much are known about it atm!:confused:
