Intellipoint software messes up my Dell 700m touchpad

My Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 broke a few weeks ago, and I just received a free replacement Intellimouse Explorer 4.0. I installed the Intellipoint 5.2 software to take advantage of the vertical/horizontal scrolling, but it disables the scrolling on my touchpad. I only use the mouse at home, so I need the touchpad scrolling when at school or other places. Is there anyway to get Intellipoint to work with the Synaptic touchpad software? Thanks!

Update- Problem solved, I just reinstalled the newest Synaptic touchpad software and restarted. Now it works again yay!

Did you look at the Synaptic website? Perhaps their troubleshooting section?
