intellipoint 5.0 & autoscroll problems

anyone using intellipoint 5.0 and have the problem where you can't use autoscroll in windows explorer at all?

it's selected as the middle wheel button and ever since intellimouse 3.0, the autoscroll in windows refuses to work. any ideas?
 
Switch to the 5.2 version - or are you hearing similar problems with that one as well?
 
yep, same problem since v4.1. for some reason, it's as if windowsxp doesn't have autoscroll functionality anymore. but in firefox or IE, it works.

lemme try removing the intellipoint software all together.
 
yeah, I still can't get any kind of autoscroll in windows explorer.

do you really need it in explorer?
its not that far down. just click on an icon and hit the letter that the file you want starts with..
my bluetooth has smart acceleration, so if i scroll once really quick it goes to the bottom of most pages, and my lappy has cruise control, so if i go from the top to the bottom of the scroll pad, it goes all the way down :D
