I want the intellimouse explorer 3.0's back. The 4.0 sucks and there was nothing wrong with the 3.0. Does anyone now where you can still buy the 3.0? I've been looking every where and can't find any. This mouse is the ultimate gaming mouse and microsoft discontinues it. WTF...

If I would have know this I would have bought cases of these damn things. I'm pissed...
 
I feel the same way. Out of all the mice ive tried (ms1, 2, 3, mx500, 510, 1000 etc) its by far the best mouse. I heard that they were discontinuing it so i picked up 2 just incase the first one breaks.

Just call really unpopular (because of puplicity, not bad service) computer shops and ask them, thats how i found the 2 i bought. If all else fails, a stop off at computer repair shops or your local college (....:p) might warrant you some success.

what do they look like? I have an ms intellimouse optical and I bought it a bit over a year ago, I like it for gaming, but it doesnt fit my hand that well. Im going to replace it and its just gonna be sitting there...

The mouse in that picture isnt an explorer mouse, its just a normal intellieye mouse. The one we're talking about (just google it "Explorer 3.0 mouse") is grey, longer, lower and is out of production. The mouse you have is still sold today and theres like 50 bijillion of them :p

The Explorer series is microsofts premiere mouse, the white one you have is more a mouse which is bundled with systems. Not saying its bad, infact the white mouse is really good, even for gaming but the shape/performance of the 3.0 is like omg woo in comparisson.
 
I still remember that the box said specifically "microsoft intellimouse optical with intelliEye"
I got it cuz it was a lot like my previous mouse, which was just like this but had 2 buttons on it, one on each side... but I didnt have the $50 or so to get that one when I got this one...
 
Well I tried to cancel my order and wouldn't you know that it was shipped in record time.. I mean the damn things are almost here already.. I was like WTF... Well I hope they're in good almost new condtion. :(

Well I got the two and one has a short in it some where... But the other one is like new...
 
The 3.0 is my favorite mouse and as soon as I got wind of their discontinued-ness, I bought 2 more for safekeeping. There has yet to be a better mouse.

The MX1000, MX700, MX900 etc, can all kiss my rear.
Mouseware blows so hard it's not even funny.
Intellipoint is the way to go, especially since you can map different functions to the extra buttons in different programs.

I am also baffled why MS discontinued the best mouse ever made.

Well Microsoft just needs to bring the 3.0's back and drop the shitty 4.0's..
 
I used a 3.0(non a) for ~6 years befoer it finally started dieing on me a few months ago (would just turn off in middle of a match or scrim, be off for 30 seconds, then turn back on. unplugging/replugging back into usb fixed this issue...) I was severly distrout over this:( I tried by buddies 3.0a and the buttons just didnt feel the same... so i purchased an mx510, and aside from the software bloat, icouldnt be happier. Feels just as if not more responcive,fits into my hand well, and just looks cooler... :) and i use the extra buttons alot;)
