I just wanted to confirm with you guys that a Xeon X3350 DOES indeed work on a EVGA 780i board!

I went straight to 450 FBS x 8 and easily hit 3.6Ghz using my stock Q6600 cooler.... I have to get back to work so I will try for a bigger overclock later.

Awesome. I should be picking up a processor in about 2 weeks time to finish my build and I wanted to have this Xeon as an option. Thanks much for posting your experience.

3.7 ghz here 465x8. Anything higher and its unstable unfortunately. Also runs a tad hot IMO, but it is my first quad core, so that might be expected moving from teh dual core arena.

Nothing really uses quad core processors now adays yet, so unless you do tasks where its required you may be better off w/ a Dual core E8400 as it runs cooler, costs less, and will overclock higher :)

I had higher in game FPS in 3dmark 06 when I used my E8400 at 4000mhz vs my Quad at 3700. Lost about 6 FPS in some tests. Sure it won the CPu test, but I dont know if it was worth it :(
