Does anyone have any experience with this CPU in a regular LGA 1366 mobo? I mean does it work? I was looking to build a low cost workstation for the office, and ran across it on Newegg. I figure if it can fit in a regular LGA 1366 mobo and be overclocked it should perform quite a bit better than a i7 930 in games because of the bigger cache. Will it work? Or do Xeons not even post in mobos that don't support ECC memory?

Most single processor boards will run them, but some may not recognize the processor correctly. If you look at the Asus WS board, they all list support for some of the Xeons. The cache isn't going to give you that much of a boost though, certainly if you're not running clock for clock with a i7 930.
