Intel X25-M SSD 80g problem's

hey guys, i just got a intel X25-M 80g for $200 my grandpa got for me as a xmas gift, I have a few Qestions/Problems

my qestions

should i take it back and get a better one from newegg and tell my grandpa i can get a bigger one or just keep it?

if i get a bigger one which would be the one to get, i wanna get around $150 for the best one i can get all i am doing is putting wow and windows 7 on it

Problems

HDtune wont let me do a write test it says "Writing is disabled" To enable writing please remove all partitions"

I ran a AS SSD Benchmark

Not sure what is happening with the error messages, but you can currently get a 120GB X-25M from Newegg (and Amazon) for $195 after rebate, so returning it for the higher capacity drive may not be a bad idea, depending on the return terms.

we'll the rebate ends on 12/18 i dont get paid until 12/20 and mygrandpa got me the intel X25-M 80gb so i did not have to pay anything for it. i just cant figure out why its saying that the write error message

HDTune may be a destructive write test, which could be why it doesn't want to write to the active partition, but I'm not sure about the AS-SSD error.

That's no problem. HDTune never has done write tests unless the drive is empty.

Just one reason why it's no good for SSDs.

I'm not sure why AS SSD isn't giving you access times. All the other tests are OK.

Is your SSD on port 0? No other drives in there, right?

yeah my ssd is on port 0 i have a wd hhd in port 1 and dvd-rw in port 2 but i have AHCI enabled in bios

Weird but not a show stopper cause it's giving you all the important info.

AFAIK the access times aren't taken into account for the final score anyway.

are them speeds nomal and good, i am just doing a ton of test to make sure its stable and nothing will happend, are them speeds better then nomal or its that where its suppose to be?

Is that the newest firmware for that drive? If not, maybe upgrade the firmware and see if that helps?

Edit: The Intel site lists the 02HD as the newest firmware for that drive - might want to grab it and see if it helps.

I had to turn off Hard Ware Monitor and it worked for me..... The error is gone.

Could be from programs running in background when testing. Turn them off.
