I was wondering which software should I use to be an accurate temp of my processor when ocing. When i use the asus/speedfan software its usually 7 to 8 degrees Celcius higher then what the intel TAT reads.

I would think TAT is the most accurate, as it is written by Intel for testing the thermal side of the processor (obviously).

Core Temp is usually very close to TAT temp, so if it this is the same on your system I would ignore the Asus software.

I use coretemp.

TAT seems to be off by 3-2 degrees compaired to core temp, and speed fan is usually off by 8-10C.

TAT or core temp, which is right when they give 2 different answers. They both give the same answer for me.

By the way Speed Fan you can easily go in and adjust the sensor setting if it is off by degrees. There is an offset setting. The CPU temp between speed fan and my DS3 rev2 is off by 30C I just type in 30 in the advanced settings for the chipset and now Speed Fan temp exactly matches what I am seeing in TAT or core temp. I just wish I could figure out how to get speed fan to read the GPU temp also.

well right now I am using the motherboard monitor 5 tweaks for the core 2 duo setups, seems to be right now i am maxing out around 57c with 1.385 volts in the bios which obviously for asus boards drops it to around 1.34. my oc is a 6400 with 8x425 for 3.4ghz.

out of curiosity how do you know that coretemp isn't off by a few degrees compaired to the one from intel?
