I am using a Phenom II system (790FX with SB750). When I enable C1E in the bios, Crystaldiskmark measures 9MB/s 4k write and the same for 4k read speeds. If I disable C1E, then it goes up to 20MB/s read and 50MB/s write, which is in line with what other people post for the same drive.

Why would C1E cause this? I run CnQ on the same system and it doesn't affect the drives performance.

I also heard a bout a tweak that sais disable C1E... haven't tried it though :)
Would be interesting to learn why this occurs.

Acronym Definition
C1E Enhanced CPU State 1 (power-saving mode, computing)

reduces clock speed

I have C1E disabled and EIST enabled and all seems to be working fine, 80GB G2.
