Hi everyone,

Recently at my job, we got in some high end work stations with the Intel SSD 520 60GB cache drives sitting behind the main hard drive (2TB 7200rpm WD Drive) our apps (Cinema4d, Maya 3d, Adobe CS6 and office 2010) load really fast and the performance is off the charts loading HD video or a 15 layer photoshop document. This got me thinking about doing the same to my PC at home...

My system rig is below in my sig. I would like to put this SSD behind my main HD for my gaming. However, upon further perusing, I don't know if my system would support this. After exploring the options, I have read that the x58 chipset is supported...however, how does the software work? Is it built into the driver to where I have to do nothing? I also have readyboost running on an 8gb usb thumb drive and the sites I have read, and say that this is no longer needed. Just some confusion as to how to proceed.

Any suggestions? Thx in advance....

Found the answer to my own question, the x58 is def not supported. Only on the z68 chipsets and above. The only other option to go with is the crucial ssd option to where they give you proprietary software that does the same that that intel does.
