Hello HardForum community!
I must say that this post is very long overdue. I have been frequenting [H] since mid-2000 when I was a lad of 14 and building my first computer (Athlon xp 1600+ machine, ah the memories) and this is my first post EVER. So first of all, thank you for all of the years of support, kick ass case mods and generally polite atmosphere.

I have recently upgraded my rig and here are the specs:
i7 2600k
Gigabyte z68xp-UD3
16gb Corsair Vengeance 1600 DDR3
OCZ 650w PSU
EVGA GTX 460 768mb *carried over from previous build will update if Kepler is worthy, otherwise 7970*

I also carried over my HDDs from the previous build. Until now my OS and apps have been loaded on a 150gb WD VelociRaptor and all media, documents, etc. reside on a 500gb WD Caviar Blue. Well the Velociraptor has been hanging up in the past couple of weeks, and while I have considered a fresh install, I'd rather save the hassle and upgrade to SSD.

Now, the z68xp-UD3 has an onboard expansion slot for an mSATA drive for caching with intel smart response. So what I would like to achieve is having 60gb Sata III SSD with the OS and frequently used apps loaded, and then have a Samsung Spinpoint F3 with caching from the mSATA SSD. Is this possible?

The only thing that I cannot figure out is whether or not you can assign the mSATA drive to ONLY cache the Spinpoint, so that it does not hinder the faster Sata III drive.

Thoughts?
