Intel roadmap Update

Looking forward to that e4300 bigtime. 9x multiplier allendale with a 200Mhz FSB default... that's a tasty meatball.

What is vPro technology and why do the conroes have it, but the X6800 don't?

It's a technology for business PC's, adds some security and eases network integration

The x6800 isn't marketed towards people who need vPro.

Damn, that 4300 looks like an OCer's wet dream come true!!!

Very interesting this. I'm quite interested in the L series of CPUs for laptops. Anyone knows how much the Low Voltage CPUs use while on idle? I've read that the Ultra Low Voltage U series use less than 1W, which is very impressive, and wonder how the L CPUs would compare.

I'm interested in the low voltage ones as well. 1.06 - 1.5 Dual core , low voltage, SFF-Damm! Bring it on!

my e6600 runs at 2Ghz at 1.05v, when in power save mode.

I run it at 333x9 = 3Ghz (@1.36v), then when the multiplier & voltage drops it runs at 333x6 = 2Ghz @ 1.05v. So that doesn't look that impressive.

I would be looking to build a single fan system. Building a computer in a little case, dual core, store anywhere system is what I would do.Is your e6600 in a case smaller than matx? Only using a 200w PS?

Oh, I thought you meant for OC'ing. Like people buying the low wattage CPU's b/c they OC better. Yeah, that would be nice to have something in the mini ITX format like the Via Eden processors.

Desktop PCs should never idle anyway. Either they are folding, gaming or doing something productive.

I received my Retail x6800 and it states it supports vPro technology on the box
