If I apply for an RMA on my retail P4 630, will they offer me the option to cross-ship? I really need to be able to use this computer, and I don't want to have to go out and buy a crappy Celeron or something while I wait for my 630 to get back from RMA.

If the CPU is bad, then you shouldnt be able to use the machine anyway.

But, no Intel doesnt cross-ship as far as I know.

I have a P4 630 for sale if you are interested. :p
 
Well in that case, id say try to get your temps down some(although I dont think this is the problem).

Then secondly, Id say that mobo is your problem, before Id suspect the CPU is the problem. Thats a crappy board.

3rd; What kinda PSU are you running?

I did get the temps down by about 15C

I've never had a problem with an ASRock board before. You know they're made by ASUS right?

An Enermax 350W. Exact model is in the thread. I have a Whisper 350W around here somewhere that I can try swapping.
 
Once they receive confirmation that the returned material is on its way back, they ship you a new one. You loose less down time in that you have the processor at just about the same time as they get your return. The packages "cross" in the mail.

No I didnt know that. But Asus, has been nothing but problems for me through the past 2 systems I have built. I ended up returning both Asus boards and replacing them with Abit boards that have worked flawlessly.

Anyways, I still think its more likly to be the PSU, or mobo.
