Intel RES2SV240 Negotiated Speed Issue

I've got an Intel RES2SV240, all plumbed into an LSI 9265 and seemingly happy, but it's not negotiating SATA drives at 6G, just 3G. I know it's not a case of needing two uplink cables, and I also know the drives attached (Seagate 3TB NAS) are 6Gbps. This is confirmed in MegaRAID as it sees the correct drives, confirms the drives speed to be 6.0Gbps, but then says Negotiated Link Speed is 3.0Gbps. All directly connected drives show up a 6 and 6. Is this a known issue or anything? I can't find any similar problems anywhere else.
 
Are you sure you don't have a bad cable?

If one disk drops down to 3g, all of them will drop.

You could just enforce 6g speeds on each port, so that the an issue of detection of 6g down to 3g doesn't cause the issue.
 
I tried upgrading the firmware on the expander, but I've got another cable arriving today to swap out to test. If it is the cable I'll be annoyed as I went and found 6" ones especially to save space in the case :)
Thanks, though. I am hoping it's something simple like this and not more serious like a failing controller or expander.
 
Well, I've tried:
Connecting the expander using two expander cables, drive still shows up as 3g
Changing the control-expander link cable, still 3g
Changing the expander-drive cable, still 3g

Now I've got another 3TB drive on order the same as the others in the array, so I'll test with that when it arrives.
