Well, my oldest sister got this new system set up after saving up some money, her old computer (a gateway) was constantly plagued with problems. The specs are as follows, the problem after that. This was the first Pentium above 433 mhz so I don't really know the hardware...
Specs:
Intel Pentium 4 3.2 Ghz Processor
Intel Desktop Board D865Perl
512 Mb PC3200 Ram (I forget the brand)
Radeon 9800pro
She picked out this case: The Viper (as reviewed here )
It was 100 bucks and came with a 500W PSU so I figured hey! maybe it will be decent.
I hooked it up, it ran great, windows was no problem, but it ran a little warm. She got some 80mm fans and I hooked them up (to the PSU) and the case was fairly cooler. The problem is that now almost every time she boots it up, it gets to the black Windows XP loading screen (with the bar) and then it kicks back to the beginning of booting. The second / third time through Windows loads properly. Yesterday morning a Microsoft Error Report popped up that said the system had recovered from a serious error. She kept clicking Don't Send but the more she clicked it the more it popped up. She finally clicked Send Error Report and it came back saying that maybe she should upgrade her BIOS. So I looked for the newest ones, flashed the bios, and right off the bat it still takes 2 tries to get into Windows. Do you think the PSU is the problem? She only has 1 hard drive, 3 80mm fans, and the video card to really power. Any help is much appreciated...
