Intel Quick Sync

going to start another thread for this. i just switched from amazon web services to my own machines for my wowza media server installs. i really like amazon because it's obviously so scaleable, however bandwidth costs were really starting to add up. i've since put together a ESXi box and housed it on a 10GbE link.

anyway, i'm now starting to get concerned about CPU power. i'm running two E5-2620's with 64GB of RAM. 16 virtual cores i have dedicated to transcoding, the rest are tied up doing other things. one 720p stream = ~20% useage. i can cut this in half with quick sync via intel igp, which wowza supports.

just wondering if anyone has experience with quick sync in a virtual environment? there's not much information out there. i've yet to get it to work. don't even know if it's possible.
