Hey guys, I was looking for a couple of recomendations for an appropriate non-water solution for cooling an Intel quad core cpu.

That link isn't really up to date. And the results aren't mensioned. So what to expect of a cooler on the Quad is unknown. It's a summary off coolers.

I've read the post on the 775 socket....Yeah, GG on actually reading it. The Socket775 coolers mentioned are the ones most popular today and in use on dual and quad core systems.
Even the OP's "zomg I didn't bother to read the second post, but I want to get this one that is mentioned in the second post of the guide."
That tells us more. Good link.http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=132996
this may be helpful. that guy tested the air coolers when running the qx6700 @ 3.5 gHz
PS: Yes, I'm having a bad day![]()
Tuniq tower.
Hands down. (for now)
As much as I like the Tuniq Tower...I wanted something flashy and appealing (yenno, for those non-computer savvy friends that come by and drool infront of the window of your rig) and right now I'm using ACF 64 Pro. If I buy the Tuniq Tower and get like an LED or UV reactive fan...can it be seen through the fins at all? Or should I go with a Zalman 95/97? Either way will be fine as I'm running 1.4v@ 3ghz.
I wouldn't get the Zalman 9500/9700. Why not go with a Scythe Infinity, then you can attach 2 LED fans to it?
Ok, let's first put them all together.
Scythe "INFINITY" 5Heat Pipes CPU Cooler
Tuniq Tower 120
Thermalright XP120
Scythe Ninja Plus
Which ones did I forget? Only the high-end ones.
Right the Coolermaster GeminII For when you want to break the mobo
Off course, here is already a link for the thermal compound. We will need the best of this also when we find out what cooler we're gonna buy.
Well, searching for reviews and comparisation will be for tomorrow. Oh, no, probably the day after. Well, I'm off to bed now, so I can end this bad day![]()
Just a question about that Tunic Tower. It's big. I just saw a good picture from it withing a case and that thing is big. So I'm wondering. Can the mobo hold all this massive cooling? Because all weight is on the mobo? And because I like to go to LAN's I'm scared at a point I will see the Tunic laying at the bottom of my case. Or the heatpipes come off the chips
