Heres My setup
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
BFG NVidia 680i SLI Motherboard
BFG NVidia BFG 8800 GTS OC 640MB
2GB Corsair Dominator 1066mhz
CoolerMaster 500 Watt PSU

Heres My Question:
I just got a new Q6600 G0 Stepping CPU. And when I try to overclock I can barely get it to boot into Windows Vista @ 2.6ghz. I have a good setup, and I don't know why I can't push this chip any further. Did I just get a dud?

You might need a more powerful PSU. Once you begin to overclock the cpu, or any hardware for that matter, it uses quite a bit more power. If you don't have enough power to give, it could cause a lack in performance and might even make the system not power on. Just a thought. How many fans do u have running? how many drives are u using? Do u have anyother hardware that is using power?

maybe a fsb limitation on the mobo? Not to say that the psu is at fault... but my Q6600 is currently at 333 x 9 (3ghz), stock vcore and this thing is powered by an Antec Basiq 500w

I would try the following:

drop the multi way low and up the fsb
only run one stick of ram
memory divider - make sure your ram is at least rated for what the divider is giving it so you can eliminate that

I forgot what revision it was, but some of the 680's can't overclock Quads at all. Chances are that the OP has one.

I have no Idea what you mean by that to be completly honest, could you explain more for me????

Just went into bios and set the Volts as:
Vcore: 1.525
FSB: 1.3
Nforce SPP: 1.3
MCP: 1.5
HTn: 1.3

I dropped the multiplier to 6 and set the FSB to 1333mhz, and was able to boot fine into windows, then when I went to put it at 7, 8, or 9. It would crash at the windows loading screen and reboot. Any one have any more suggestions for me?
