Do you guys think the price of INTEL Core 2 duo processor will come down more before June.

I want to build a computer for my friend and i was wondering that price of E4300 will come down more by the end of May?

New E4300s are only $115. Not trying to be an ass, but does your friend want one for free?

Yeah i know, but what are the chances that Newegg will drop price more?

Or near $100, because he want it by the end of May.

What is he trying to save $1.00 or something? They arnt going to come down more.

$114.00 with Free shipping at ZZF. It's $114.40 at ClubIT with free shipping. $101.00 OEM at eWiz.

I think it will be down to $113 to by June.

please read...

Q3 is the next price cut... And if you cant affordd an E4300.. Dont consider waiting..

its cheap....

Some time around the first week in June, Intel will be putting out some sub $100 pentium e2xxx's that are core 2 based with 8x and 9x multis and 1mb cache and run stock 200Mhz FSB.
They have already been found/OC'ed to 400Mhz FSB by some people.

Price at MicroCenter is so fake. It's still $239.99 for the E6420 and $232 for the E6600. Where's the common sense? And one day, the D 925 was $86, the next day, it jumped back to $99.99.

Might it have been... *GASP*
A sale?

The reason for MicroCenter's odd prices is Rather Simple: Unlike the prices for E6420, those for E6600 are going nowhere. (In fact, if anything, it is the E6600 *processor* that isn't long for the market, as both E6540 gets launched and Q6600 pricing gets halved in three months.) MicroCenter is thus left with a choice: sell now, while they can (and make *some* profit) or be stuck with unsellable inventory. And no dealer wants to eat inventory. (MicroCenter is not just e-tail; they have eight brick-and-mortar locations in various parts of the US. The Fairfax, VA location, for example, is 40 miles from me.)

I dont know why someone would suggest microcenter prices are fake lol. Obviously youve never ordered from them before.

Anyways, its cause the E6420 is somewhat new and the E6600 has been out a while. Who knows what their logic is. Frys had the E6600 a week or so ago for $200 shipped so....that wasnt fake.

Of course they will come down more. The question is when. Probably will be in a few months, but if you think they'll never get lower than what they are, you're a fool

They are just ten minutes away from me and I shop there all the times. In fact, I'm going there on Friday to get some really good deal. Not CPUs, though.

I think there's an E2140 1.6GHz that's supposed to be $74 coming out soon. It'll keep up with the E4300 in almost every way, except in gaming it'll be only about 60-65% as good.

Is there some review of this not-yet-released chip that you are basing that statement on, as I have not seen one yet.

I've been to their Website (and in person to their Fairfax, VA store). I am so definitely *not* implying their pricing is fake (in fact, they actually sell the stuff in the stores for the same prices as their site; does Fry's do that?).

However, that was my own point: the E6600 has been out a while (and is about to Go Away). Meanwhile, E6420 just launched this quarter, along with Q6600, and both are getting price cuts next quarter (meanwhile, E6540 and Q6700 also get launched in Q3).

I actually seriously wonder how long *any* of the E6X00 processors are beyond this quarter.

Prices will go down maybe be 10% with occassional sales affecting prices, but the next price cut is in August - September if I remember correctly. That's when the Q6600 will come down to E6600 prices. No chance of big price cuts in the May timeframe unless AMD drops a bombshell CPU in between now and August.

problem is the newer chips are overclocking like ass.. Well the E6600 new batch sucks hard. Been hanging on Extreme systems and been seeing E6420 hit higher overclocks then the new batch of E6600's..

Me upset over the fact that I wanted to upgrade and get the 6600 due to price drops. Glad I held out. because i would have been pissed spending $240 just to get 2mb of cache and 400mhzmore then I have now. Personally not worth it.

I mayyyy wait out for the Q3 releases .. Q6600 """looking mighty fine in dem jeans""

Its all a gamble. :p

If you have a Fry's nearby, they've had a sale recently for an agp/ddr1/ddr2 motherboard plus e4300 combo for $129. Sell the motherboard on ebay for $35 and you have yourself a sub $100 e4300.

if it is the asrock 4core board then that is a great deal. I picked up that board and the e4300 recently and used old hardware for the rest. Best $170 upgrade ever!

Are these the single-core variation of Conroe? I believe they were codenamed Conroe L?
