I don't know why everyone is dogging on the Intel Prescott being so hot. I have a 2.8 @ 3.5GHz with Zalman cooler. I just got done hosting a LAN party at my house. My machine never locked up once.

I don't get it.

what zalman heatsink do you have? is like ga something, the copper one? I was planning to get a 2.4 A and overclocking it. yeh, they put out a lot of heat, but they're great.

Yeah, you sure don't. :)

A Prescott can happily run at 70-80*C and not crash. Does that mean it's not hot?

I've seen reports that the 2.4A and 2.8A seem spookily to run at normal P4 temps, even when overclocked. It's the full-featured 800FSB+HT Prescotts that seem to run like lava.
