Sounds like what Intel did to the T2300, when it created the T2300E, which also lacks VT. I would if Intel expects VT to become a big selling point.

That must be their thinking, at least. As of now, when I hear that they're cheaper because they don't have VT all I can think is "so? who cares?" and I'd imagine that most people here probably feel the same way. Perhaps VT has some tricks up its sleeve or something?

It's like AMD's socket 939 3400+ and 3500+. Both have the same cache and clockspeed, but the 3400+ has 800MHz hypertransport, and the 3500+ has 1GHz Hypertransport. 400MHz is more than enough HT for a CPU, so its moot.

There's also 945 version coming with 3.4 Ghz at 163 $ and i seriously start to think about replacing my 805d with such a chip instead of going on rather expensive conroe bandwagon.

there no way id replace my 805D with anything from intels current line up. still hoping to get 4gig out of it yet.
