Intel pentium E5200 or Core 2 Duo E7500?

I don't know whether to but a Fujitsu Amilo desktop with a pentium processor E5200 (2.50Ghz, 2MB cache) or a Dell with an Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 (2.93GHz, 3MB cache)

I'll be using it for music downloads, internet, storing photos. The fujitsu is cheaper and the price alone would swing it. Both have pretty basic specs but once bought the computer will not be replaced in a hurry.

Is the Dell's processor fast enough to justify the higher price tag - about $160 more?

I've been looking on the web and I can't find anyone with a bad word to say about the E5200, is it just as good as the Core 2 Duo for what I want to do?

i'd say go for the e5200. you won't really notice any speed differences since the stuff you will be doing on the machine is not too demanding. things you listed looks like it's more limited to network/internet speed. and even if you wanted to upgrade from the e5200, buying a bran new e7500 costs less than $160 (and you'll have an extra e5200 chip).
 
The CPU alone isn't worth $160 over the E5200, but if there are other differences it may be worth it overall. Otherwise, you'd be better off with the cheaper PC, and you can always just buy a better CPU and upgrade it yourself.
