Intel PD 950?

I have one (B stepping). Badass CPU compared to my old school P4 2.6 Northwood. Jumped on it when Intel slashed their prices.

Just be careful...B stepping CPUs are probably stock piled even though the C stepping ones have been out for awhile now. Also, Intel has already released a document talking about D stepping coming out in the Fall as well as another pricing decrease. By then of course, we will all be drooling over Conroe (aka Core 2).
 
Intel is releasing a Pentium D 945 .... 3.4/2MB but no VT like te 950 for 163$ soon...

Those are revisions. It's a letter followed by a number, like A0, B0, B1, C1.

The C1 processors came out recently and use much less power/run cooler than the older B1 stepping (95W vs 130W). You would want to get the D 950 sSpec SL95V to get a C1 processor. SL94P is a B1 stepping D 950.

The D 950 is going to be $224 next month. I'd go for the D 945 as mentioned above. It doesn't support VT, but is otherwise the same as the D 950 and is guaranteed to be a C1 stepping core.
