INTEL P4 2.8E Prescott Over Clocking HELP!!

I have questions b4 purchasing intel 2.8E prescott cpu.

1. Can this cpu be Clockable?
2. Whats the MAX. i could juice out? (AIR COOLING)
3. Whats the MAX. i could juice out? (WATER COOLED)
4. IF any1 has had experience with this chip, how HOT can they reach idle/load AIR AND WATER cooling.

It's overclockable. Who knows where it maxes? I'd say 3.5 ghz on air is a pretty generous estimate, maybe a little higher on water. Prescotts tend to run hot, so water cooling would be optimal for it. As for temps, it depends on the quality of the cooling.

If it's a tossup between Prescott and Northwood you should go Northwood at that speed. Prescott only beats Northwood at higher speeds.

I was'nt expecting it to clock that high since prescott tend to run hot. I am on a budget, and right now i'll probably just stick with my xp-120 thermalright heatsink if i was to clock it that high.

You can overclock. Just be careful because Prescott's run hot.
I have a Pent 4 / 3.0E GHz. The "E" versions run hotter.

Ive got my 2.8E at 3.5 stable, vcore 1.48, cooled with thermalright sp-94 and ~2500rpm thermaltake 90mm fan, pretty hot tho with temps 47/65C compared to stock temps of 45/54C. You shouldn't have much trouble getting to around 3.5ghz with your xp 120 and a case with good airflow.

I'm going to replace my 2.5G Northwood for a 3.0E Prescott. Air cooled (thermal take) and great airflow through the case...

Seems I could hit 3.5 with this set-up?
