Hi,

I understand that all Intel boxed CPUs have 3 yr warranty. What is Intel OEM CPU warranty? I see from Micro Center, the Q9450s OEM CPU is also 3 yrs, typo?

The OEM warranty is whatever the retailer gives it. You can't return an OEM CPU back to Intel for warranty (but I'm sure someone has managed to do that before). Some sites give 30-90 days and some give 1 year.

It might be a typo on the MC product page.

OEM warranty is usually 1yr from Intel.
No, it's not. Like I said above:

Tray CPUs are OEM.

Just like Microshaft will not provide support for OEM versions of Winblows, Intel does not warrant OEM CPU's. You must go to the OEM supplier for warranty coverage.

If they screw you, let us know so we can avoid that OEM in the future.
