Intel Mobo & Cooler Master Case

I just finished building a PC using an Intel D875PBZ w/HT and a WaveMaster CoolerMaster case. However, I have a problem. I cannot get the 1384, USB, or Audio connections on the top of the case to work. I suspect I don't have them correctly connected to the mobo. Can anyone tell me where I connect the wires from the 1384, USB & Audio to the mobo? Thanks.

sorry, but i'm pretty sure a rtfm is at call here. please correct me if i'm wrong.

(read the manual)

Yea, perhaps not a RTFM, but anyway... Read your motheboard manual. The connections you need to make are usually on the bottom-right part of your motherboard, where your power, reset, speaker connections all are.

That's the solution for most of the problems in here. However...no one does it.

the problem with intel is that they have horrible manuals. I got that retail edge package with the intel 865gbf board, I can't believe how poor the documntation is. Intel sucks on documentation.

I to could not find instructions in my IC7-G manual for the connections... I just didnt hook em up...

The manual that comes with their board is a Quick Reference Guide. Their website can be a bit of a hairy hole to navigate and find stuff, but it is the best place to find the info you need. Previous post to the info you need is right on. You should check out the Specification Update stuff too. Lists all of the known errata that they are aware off and what if anything you can do about it or they are doing about it.

Gee, I never would have thought of looking at the manual. In fact, the manual is even less helpful than most of the replies I got on this thing. Although there were several who gave me the benefit of the doubt and believed that I probably considered the manual's guidance before going to the trouble of posting a query to this site And to those I extend my appreciation.

The Intel web site just referred me to its manual as well. I guess I just hoped that someone might have built a PC using the same mobo and case and could help me. I guess not. I guess this mobo/case combination is just too bizare. The connection suggested by the manual is, as best I can figure, the J8J1 internal header, but it doesn't work, or at least I can't get it to work, and there don't appear to be any other headers I can find to connect to. Well, no big deal. I will just go without; its not essential I guess. At any rate, if there is someone out there that actually built a PC with this mobo and case, please advise if the USB connections on the top of your case work. Could be I just have a faulty case, or mobo.

Thanks.

Attitude, Attitude, Attitude. Follow the link from MajorDomo and page 68 will give you the pin out for the USB ports. I have an older CoolerMaster ATC 201 case and there is no need to change the pin configuration for the USB with CoolerMaster's case cables unless they starting doing things differently. Apparently some case companies may have used alternate pin out assignments. For shits and giggles here's the pin out assigments according to CoolerMaster:

Pin 1 is red, 2 is white, 3 green, 4 is black. My cables have a pin 5 wire but it's irrelevent. If they are arranged as so on your cables, and you have them hooked onto the correct header in the proper orientation it should be okay. Boot into the Setup Configuration and make sure that the jack is turned on. I don't think it can be turned off, but... Do your rear USB jacks function?

As for the audio jacks. Unless you bought the board from Intel directly, or one of their authorized distributors you don't have any onboard audio solution to have headers to connect to. They need to be connected to your sound card not the mobo. Not to be smart but you'll have to read the appropriate manual.

1394 isn't supported on the PBZ either. They'll have to be routed to a sound card or PCI Firewire card.

Good Luck.:)
