intel matrix storage technology. what is it?

At the most basic level, that is true.

What it's advantage is that no one else does on the chipset level yet is that it lets you mix RAID levels on drives at the logical parition level.

That is have two drives with one RAID 0 parittion and one RAID 1 partition on the same two drives, or even RAID 5 on partitions with 3 or more drives.

question: this partition you are talking, does it work the same as with single drives??

what he is trying to say is that intel supports multiple RAID-volumes per drive.

Example: you have two 300GB drives. you want a small, fast boot partition and a secure data partition. With only two drive, you can say have a 60GB boot partition as RAID-0 and a 270GB RAID-1 data partition.
