Intel Matrix Storage, Does RAID include AHCI features?

It seems from the instructions that you have a choice of either RAID or AHCI during setup and installation, but not both. Do the RAID drivers automatically include some or all of the AHCI features? It seems like the AHCI feature set would be useful for a raid array but the manual doesn't make it clear.

This is for a Gigabyte GA-956P-DQ6 board but maybe it applies to any ICH8R or Intel SB chipset.

If NCQ and 3G signalling rates are members of "AHCI features" then the answer is yes, at least some.
