The crew at Benchmark Reviews have posted an Intel heatsink round-up today that is worth checking out. If you are shopping for a new cooler for your Intel based rig, the article offers suggestions for enthusiasts as well as overclockers.

This article introduces the CoolIt Vantage ALC, Deep Cool Gamer Storm, TITAN EVO TTC-NK85TZ/CS2, and Xigmatek Aegir SD128264 to the collection. We overclock our Intel Core i7-930 processor to 4.0 GHz using 1.40 volts to see which CPU cooler can make it into the top with the ProlimaTech Megahalems, Thermalright Venomous-X, and Scythe Mugen 2 heatsinks.

I love heatsink roundups. They are just so basic, easy to implement, and typically straight forward. And they let me know my Megahalem isn't old news but will be just fine for the foreseeable future.

Great to see my Zalman Performa included. IMHO, it has great bang for the buck right out of the box as it includes a decent fan, excellent TIM and no extra mounting kits to buy.

Sweet Most of these are compatible with AMD so would they work just as good?

Typically, yes. If you took all these same coolers and did the same tests but on an AM2/AM3 platform, you will get similiar results.

Scythe Mugen 2 is a beast if anyone is going to OC. Mine the idle temp is 40C after OC my i930 to 3.5.
