Intel HD graphics vs NVIDIA ION

intel HD igp's don't compare anything.. about the only thing it can do is play blurays and any other video/app that support video hardware accel.. i cant say much for the ion since i haven't read up on them much but just the fact that its actually made by a company that knows graphics im sure it will be a lot better then anything intel has to offer.. if all you do is watch movies and browse the web then the intel HD igp offerings are good for that.. other then that they are worthless..
 
ION completely tramples over the Intel's GMA HD graphics. It's a testament to how bad IGPs were with Core 2 that GMA HD is actually much better than the old IGPs.

To be honest, though, I am surprised by how well my Core i3 330M notebook is doing graphics-wise - Flash games play well, and the only game I've played on here, Warcraft 3, plays perfectly maxed out. Obviously WC3 isn't that exciting performance-wise, though, so if you play newer games, you're probably SOL, but just keep in mind that it's not completely useless anymore. Just partly.
