I have an acer desktop that has Intel HD 2500 internal graphics. It has HDMI on it. Does anyone know if HD 2500 via HDMI will allow 1440P resolution (2560 x 1440). I can't find the answer online.

Thanks,

No, unless it's connected to a TV doing 3D, Intel's HDMI 1.4 ports on Ivy Bridge just behave like DVI ports. Nothing above 1200p unless you create a custom resolution with really low refresh.

And this website should confirm the above, as soon as ity comes back online!

Really sad this doesn't cover Ivy or Sandy:

Well thanks for the (bad) news. Anyway it sounds like some Intel HD graphics will do 1440P resolution (and beyond) just not the HD 2500 correct?
