Thinking of buying this. Does anyone have any opinions on how this fares against current gen ssds?

Also what other ssds are good for 200?

The X25-M is a good SSD. The 320 series is better, so only buy the X25-M if it is much less expensive than the 320.

Looks like a good deal if it was an intel ssd, but a-data, not too sure. Haven't exactly seen a lot of reviews for it, i would do some research and compare it to the other ssds on the market.

i bought this exact one. i was told it was a rebadged g2 lol. hopefully it is. :/

In the picture, it even has an Intel sticker on it - with what appears to be an Intel part number and an Intel firmware version - so I'd say your chances of it being a re-badged Intel are pretty good. That's actually a nice find. Post back when you get it (I'd like to know if the Intel SSD Toolbox identifies it as an Intel drive).

I wonder after you installed it, what the BIOS would see? Would the BIOS see it as an Intel SSD 160GB?

I would also love to know what it says under Device Manager, whether it says Intel or the OEM brand name

i guess that all depends on if Adata have updated the firmware in any way

I've just received it from ups. Is the Intel SSD toolbox a program? Is there a tutorial on how to use it? Thanks! Installing now!

I wonder if you can update this to the newest intel firmware. The a-data is listed as having 70MB/s write whereas the intel drives latest firmware upped the speed to 100MB/s. Anyone brave enough to try? Seriously considering picking one of these up if they come back in stock at the same price.

My guess would be that it'll take the firmware just fine. The firmware listed on the picture is an Intel G2 firmware number, and if the Intel SSD Toolbox sees it as an Intel drive it'll probably work. I'm wondering if the price is going to go back up when they come back in stock - right now Google has them running for $350 most everywhere else that sells them, and Newegg has had a habit of running low prices on out-of-stock items.

Is there a tutorial showing how to flash it? I'm thinking its already too late for me to flash since i have the OS installed and whatnot.
