Looking at getting a new laptop, and have been eying up the dv2845 at best buy, it comes with the AMD TL-62, I'm also considering an xps1330, which comes with core 2 duos, so I was wondering what the equivalent to the TL-62 was.

thanks in advance.

The TL-62 is faster than the Core2Duo L7500 (1.6ghz) but is slower than the Core2Duo T7300(2ghz). If you check out the mobile cpu charts on toms hardware you'll get a better idea performance wise. But, ultimately if you stuck a 7200rpm hdd in any of these, you'd see an improvement in responsiveness.

TL-62 = 2.1GHz, 35W

The closest Intel mobile chip to TL-62 performance and power consumption is either the T5450 (1.66GHz) or T5300 (1.73GHz).

The faster 25W 45nm Mobile Core 2 CPUs will be out next month. Turion Ultra should be out soon too.
