Intel E6300 drivers help

Sorry if I am posting on the wrong section or this has been asked before but the search didn't yield me any answers.

I recently purchased all my components to build me a new rig. After I installed Windows XP Pro w/SP2 and downloaded all the new drivers, I'd notice that my Intel E6300 CPU drivers are provided by Microsoft and they have a date of 4/1/2004 with a driver version of 5.1.2600.0 which tells me that it can not be as good as a new driver.

Went to the Intel site but all I was able to download was their analyser and I couldn't even use that as after installing it and trying to open the proggie it just hangs there forever and it doesn't do anything.

I bougth the Retail version but it didn't come with a cd or anything. I may be talking out of my butt here since I am a newbie at this but I figured that if my EVGA nForce 680i & my two BFG 7800GTX O/C have gotten the newest drivers and Bios update from the manufacturer, the E6300 shouldn't be different... am I wrong to believe this? Is there a site where I can download newer drivers for it? or, I am stock with what I have now.:confused:

the M$ patch refers to how windoz deals with multicore and hyperthreaded cpus correctly, (after all they didnt exist when windows was built and dual cpu workstations were very rare so they had to guess the patch fixes a few crashes in certian instances). there is no "driver" for a cpu (amd is the exception, they built their own powersaving drivers, intel and M$ are good budies so no worries here). a few things, the motherboard must be able to support the cpu fully, and then simply have windoz up to date and your set. to get the most out of powersaving of the cpu, set the power profile of windoz to laptop/portable and then set your times (hdd power down etc) and oh make sure the stuff is turned on in the bios too.

Thanks for the others one though, I would have gotten crazy looking for non-existant drivers... :D
