Intel DX58SO x58 1366 Thread

Scratch that, got it working with a better PSU.

A new problem though, it shuts off after a few minutes of use. Then when it starts back up it says "CPU was shut down to thermal event (overheating)." I checked all the temps and they are fine though.

Could running 1333mhz ram cause this? I heard 1066 is supposed to be better for a i7 930.

Which CPU heatsink (cooler) are you using on that CPU?

If it's the stock Intel boxed CPU heatsink, make sure the four pins get tightened properly (you will hear a tiny click). Those pins have a notorious habit of popping loose while just sitting around.
