Ok i have a build for either a dual or quad intel depending on final budget.

This will be used for 3d modelling/rendering, anything that can be done better? This will NOT be overclocked (a shame i know =( )

I have just about the same setup and use it with maya and 3d max. I'd defintley go for quad core by the way, if i could afford it, would greatly increase render speed.

One thing i'd think about is that video card. I wasn't sure what i wanted but i knew i wanted to game some as well. Until directx 10 came out for kinda cheap i went with the 7600 GTO, it runs 3d max and the like perfectly with no problems. and was less than half of that quadro. So not saying to not get the quadro, but just telling you my experience.
